Kathryn and Everett are two hobos who eschew traditional wisdom in favor of intuition. Decisions based on gestalt manifest the so called ‘aesthetic‘ espoused by Kierkegard but envelope (and in many ways enhances) the earlier practical ethic. Posting the infinite qualitative distinction as the border from which to abstain from nihilism; Walking in the woods then becomes the pure pursuit of experience from which to simultaneously ask and answer. McLuhan once said in his study of media:
“To see a man slip on a banana skin is to see a rationally structured system suddenly translated into a whirling machine.”
― Marshall McLuhan, Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man
We are that whirling machine.
